INTRODUCTION
Your AQ is the lens through which you see and navigate life. It represents your pattern of response to adversity, and even life in general, that activates in your brain when you are confronted with difficult or challenging circumstances. AQ is an exceptionally robust and global predictor of human resilience, energy, capacity, effectiveness, and performance. Your AQ also influences your optimism, innovation, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, income, health, and perseverance.
AQ is the most widely used gauge in the world for assessing, and ultimately strengthening, how you respond to and handle adversity, in all its countless forms.
AQ scores range from 40 to 200, with a global mean of 137, with a very distinct bell curve or "normal" distribution. That's why most people score within the middle ranges on AQ. That means the more your score deviates from the mean - high or low - the more significant the positive or negative consequences become.
The higher your AQ, the more effectively you will respond to most situations, and the less of a toll life's events will take on your energy, performance, productivity, agility, health, and outlook.
The lower your AQ, the more difficult it can be for you to maintain the energy, optimism, and fortitude required to optimize your capabilities and your life.
Improving your AQ tends to create very rich rewards, including making you more resilient and effective for anything life, school, or work throws your way.

CONTROL
The C dimension measures the extent to which you feel you can influence difficult situations. Control is a significant predictor of health, energy, outlook, tenacity, perseverance, innovation, competitiveness, and problem solving. The lower your score, the less you feel that what you do matters. The higher your score, the more you feel able to influence a situation and take meaningful action. Regardless of your current score, you can measurably improve by employing some simple AQ-building tips.
YOUR C SCORE
Your C score falls in the high range (46โ50), indicating a tendency to become more determined, decisive, and action-focused in challenging situations. You naturally find and focus on the facets of situations that you can influence, regardless of the ones you cannot. This translates into superior mental clarity, problem-solving abilities, confidence, and optimism in demanding times. But you can become even stronger.
OWNERSHIP
The O dimension measures the extent to which you tend to "step up" and take the initiative to improve difficult situations, regardless of their cause. The higher your score, the more likely you are to play some role in making things better. The lower your score, the more likely you are to deflect accountability and blame others. Whereas the C dimension captures how you perceive your level of influence, the O dimension captures your behavioral tendency to take action to influence a situation. Regardless of your current score, your ownership can be measurably improved.
Focus your ownership on those situations in which you can make the most significant contribution, and/or those that cause you the greatest concern. When those challenges and opportunities arise, ask yourself:
YOUR O SCORE
Your O score falls within the high range (50), indicating an unusually high sense of ownership in improving difficult situations regardless of their cause. You are likely to step up, get involved, and feel responsible when unexpected challenges arise. This tendency may draw people to you, especially when crises arise. You may inspire others to step up and get engaged as well.
REACH
The R dimension assesses the extent to which you let a setback in one area of your life reach over and affect other areas. The higher your score, the more automatically you will contain the reach of the adversity, limiting it to the situation at hand. The lower your score, the more you tend to let adverse events in one area negatively affect other areas. The lower your score, the bigger and worse each difficulty may appear. The higher your score, the smaller and more manageable it may seem. Regardless of your current score, you can measurably improve your reach by using the AQ Builders.
The moment adversity strikes and grips you with stress and concern, ask yourself three questions:
YOUR R SCORE
Your R score falls within the low range (10โ19), indicating a tendency to let difficulties in one area become much bigger than they need to be. It may be hard to let things go. You may ruminate or catastrophize when adversity becomes particularly intense, prolonged, or complicated. This can have a detrimental effect on others and their optimism in solving problems. You may suffer unnecessary levels of stress, a tendency that you can improve as you strengthen your reach.
ENDURANCE
The E dimension of your AQ assesses how long you perceive adverse events will last or endure. Whereas Reach captures how adversity in one domain of life or work affects your general mindset and approach to other domains, the E dimension captures the duration of adversity and its potentially paralyzing grip on you. The higher your score, the quicker you see and overcome difficult situations. The lower your score, the longer adverse events seem to drag on you. The E dimension affects hope, agility, optimism, and problem solving.
This will equip you to identify ways of limiting the adversity's duration and weight on you. Imagine what life looks like on the other side of the adversity and you will be naturally compelled to get there. Generate a brainstormed list in response to this question:
This can provide a concrete road map and psychological reassurance that the adversity need not endure as long as you fear.
YOUR E SCORE
Your E score falls within the low range (10โ24), indicating a tendency to perceive difficulties as long-lasting, if not endless. This tendency can prove demoralizing and may be perceived by others as somewhat pessimistic. It can also reduce your ability and motivation to take on a given challenge. You may struggle to remain engaged with long-term, complex problems. Your endurance can be measurably and even dramatically improved by using the AQ Builder.

One of the most powerful ways to affirm and enhance your AQ Profile is by comparing your initial results against the potential perceptions of others by answering the questions below.
How do your AQ and CORE scores stack up against the ways others perceive you?
If they were asked to honestly and confidentially rate, on a scale of 10-50, how effectively you respond to adversity, overall, the moment it strikes, in comparison to everyone else they know, how would you score?
Find and focus on what they can influence to make it better, versus perceive it as out of their control.
Step up to make some sort of positive difference, versus step back and not play a role.
Contain the downside, limit the potential reach of the adversity, versus let it be bigger than it needs to be.
See and get past it as quickly as possible, versus let it drag on.
